The Deepotsav in Ayodhya is one of the grandest celebrations of lights and devotion in India. This emblematic festival is deeply rooted in mythology and tradition. Currently, the city of Ayodhya is all set to light up in divine glory as it commemorates the mythic return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile and a defeat of Ravana. The sacred banks of the Saryu River, temples and streets will be illuminated by lakhs of earthen lamps (diyas), finely exemplifying the triumph of light over darkness.
